The Cranberry Cup raised over $140,000. We purchased a new
home for the Maybee family and was able to help FOUR other
families during their extreme time of need. In addition, we
were able to help three additional families over the holidays.
We purchased coats, boots, warm comforters and many items
to keep them warm that most of us take for granted.
2005
This year the Cranberry CUP expanded to include the Cranberry
CUP Golf Classic held at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course on
Friday. Twenty-three neighborhood teams and 13 business teams
competed in one of the largest outings to be held at Cranberry
Highlands Golf Course. The annual softball tournament was
played the next day with thirty-six neighborhoods and twelve
business teams competing for the Cranberry CUP. The community
rallied around our beneficiaries—seven-year-old Isabella
Christenson and nine year old Dakota Dore, raising $75,000
in donations and sponsorships. In addition, local businesses
provided a tremendous amount of services and products for
the events. The families of Isabella and Dakota will use the
proceeds from the CUP to help offset the expenses associated
with treating their illnesses.
2004
Thirty-six neighborhoods and twelve business teams competed
for the Cranberry CUP and to raise money for Alex Poust. Alex
was fifteen years old, battled brain cancer twice, lost his
father to a heart attack, and was in need of a bone marrow
transplant that only the MD Anderson Medical Center in Houston
, TX was willing to perform. Alex had a wonderful time during
the tournament weekend and he gave his family precious memories.
Our community raised over $55,000 for Alex and his Family.
Alex died on December 3, 2004 before he was well enough to
travel to TX, but he knew the tremendous impact that HE had
on our community and so many people.

home with her daughter during the most difficult time in their
lives.
