Opening Ceremony

For many, this is the undisputed highlight of the CUP tournament weekend! Past recipients have arrived at the park by helicopter or by firetruck, where they are wildly welcomed by hundreds of softball players and their families, local dignitaries, and numerous volunteers. This ceremony is always held at 10 AM on the first Saturday in August at Cranberry Park on Route 19 near the Fire Station. You may want to bring a tissue or two, as our guest speakers have been known to draw a tear from a few of us, but you will absolutely be inspired by the courageous, dedicated neighbors that you will listen to on this day. The opening ceremony is typically attended by nearly a thousand players and spectators; you'll want to arrive early for a good parking space!
